Rosa Mae Ostrom, 86, of Phoenix, Arizona was welcomed into Heaven on December 10, 2022. She passed peacefully in her home at 12:00 pm. She was born on October 13, 1936, in Muse, Oklahoma to the late Leslie and Ida Moore. She studied at Southwestern Assemblies of God Bible College and was an accomplished pianist and organist. She served alongside her husband Earl in pastoral ministry for 63 years in the Phoenix area as well as in Oklahoma and Arkansas. Many Arizonans will remember Rosa Ostrom as the Assemblies of God Women's Ministries Secretary.
She loved her husband of 63 years and had three children who respected and adored her. Known by all as a woman of God, Sister Ostrom was a skilled writer, teacher, and poet. She wrote many Christmas plays and inspirational articles and was a sought-after speaker for many years. To those closest to Rosa, she was known for her wit, sense of humor, and uncommonly sweet spirit.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Harvey, Lowell, and Jim Moore; and her son, Michael Ostrom. She is survived by her children, Valerie Heath, and Jon Marc Ostrom; her grandchildren, Joshua (Roxi) and Tiffany Heath, Steven (Amethyst) and Ryan (Bethany) Ostrom, Alicia (Adam) Wells, Ethan, Judah, Levi, and Corban Ostrom; her sister Ellen Eaton; sister-in-law Vivian Ross; her daughters-in-law, Christi Ostrom and Rosemary Ostrom; her great-grandchildren, Remi, Wylie, River, Parker, Ivanna, Myla; extended family; and dear friends.
Her immediate family will lay her remains to rest on Thursday, December 22 at West Resthaven Cemetery, 6540 W. Northern Avenue, Glendale, AZ 85301. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, December 23 at 7:00 pm at Rivers Church, 3427 E. Bell Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85032.
