Mary Maggie Harris, a beloved, faithful, and kind-hearted soul, passed away on December 16, 2024, at the age of 80. Born on November 20, 1944, in Bessemer, Alabama, Mary was the second oldest child of Grady and Mattie Smith. She was raised in Alabama and moved to Arizona in her early 30s, where she made her home in Phoenix.
Mary retired after dedicating over 25 years to Honeywell as a quality control specialist. Her commitment and expertise were highly valued by her colleagues and the company.
She is survived by her twin daughters, Regina "Gina" Harris and Vetina "Tina" Harris, along with 10 grandchildren: Debra Brookins, Shamika Pigg, D'Mitri Harris, Elijah Pigg, Sasha Pigg, Erica Harris, Aaron Pigg, Nathanael Pigg, Aaliyah Myers, and Eric Ballew, III. Mary also leaves behind 12 great-grandchildren, her sister Blanche Snowden, her brother Jesse Smith, niece Tynisha Scott-Timmons, and nephews Kenneth Snowden and Malcolm Scott and her longtime friend Delia.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Melissa Evette Pigg, and her sister Annie Scott.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, beginning at 1 pm at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 W. Northern Avenue, Glendale. Burial will follow in Resthaven Park Cemetery.
