Maria Socorro Gonzales

Maria “Mary” Socorro Gonzales, 81, of Glendale, entered eternal rest on July 3, 2021 in Mesa, Arizona surrounded by her adoring family. She was born on July 3, 1940 to the late Guillermo and Carmen Mayboca Vega in Pilares de Nacozari, Sonora, Mexico.

On June 29, 1957, she married Juan Manuel Gonzales in Agua Prieta, Sonora, Mexico. Maria “Mary” was a homemaker who thoroughly enjoyed her occupation. She raised each child with unconditional love and God’s guidance. She often proclaimed that being in the presence of her kids/grandkids/great-grandkids made her happy.

Maria S. Gonzales is survived by her spouse of 64 years, Juan Manuel Gonzales; 7 children; Johnny “Junior” Gonzales, Norma Gonzalez (Patrick Gonzalez), Robert ”Bobby” Gonzales (Annette Gonzales), William “Billy” Gonzales (Tammy Gonzales), Patricia “Patsy” Henke (Terry Henke), Miriam “Susy” Ortega (Fil Ortega), Maria “Lupe” Lomeli (Arthur Lomeli); 23 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and many other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her brothers Guillermo Vega and Francisco Vega and her son-in-law Patrick Gonzalez.

Memorial services will be held Friday, July 16th, 2021 at St. Helen Catholic Church, 5510 Cholla St., Glendale, AZ 85304. Schedule as follows: Visitation 9am – 10am, Rosary Service 10am – 10:30 am, Funeral Service 10:30am – 11:30am. Graveside Service to be held Friday, July 16th, 2021 at Resthaven Park Cemetery, 6450 W. Northern Ave., Glendale, AZ 85301 at 12:00pm to 12:30pm. Reception immediately following at The Glendale Women’s Club at 7032 N. 56th Ave., Glendale, AZ 85301.
