Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother, Leo Fonteno, was taken home by his Holy Father on July 4, 2018 at the age of 87. He was born on August 8, 1930 in Beaumont, Texas and was a long time Arizona resident. For several years Leo worked at Palo Verde Nuclear Power Plant where he drove a van 50 miles a day bringing the workers to the plant. After that, Leo worked for Glendale High School as a school bus driver for 20 years. Leo kept the kids in line and they loved and respected him. He retired at the age of 84. Leo also volunteered for many years with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.
Leo was a good man, a born leader & was always helping family, friends, and even strangers. He was the person you would go to with your problems, large or small, and his friend and family will forever be grateful that Leo was there to help.
Leo is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lynn, his five children, Peggy Bonds, Dave Fonteno, Irene Fonteno, Letitia Rutledge, and Robert Fonteno, 6 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and brothers Richard, Tony, Vincent, Joe, and Patrick.

He was laid to rest at Resthaven Park Cemetery in Glendale, Arizona.
