Rest in peace Tio 

You may not be here anymore, but you’re still on our hearts.

We’ll cherish all the memories you being with us, coming over to bbq carne asada, watching soccer games and UFC fights. Showing your nephew John on how to do stuff and just spending family time. You were Johnny’s favorite, shotgun, breakfast buddy, best friend.

I know heaven is having the biggest party ever for you Tio! I will never forget the great memories you and my cousins gave me growing up. From learning how to swim at your house. To our road trip to the Grand Canyon when the RV broke down, and mom busted out the camera instead of helping push the RV lol. I will always admire the strength and positivity you faced life’s challenges, up until the very end. Like a true Guerrero Tio! 
Give grandma the biggest hug for me! I am sure you had the entire family waiting to welcome you with open arms.

Her drawing of our Dad was spot on!!  Down to handing his paycheck over to our mom. My Dad was such a hardworking man.🙏🏽

We just found this homemade card from Val to Dad done in the 90s. Dads tool box- all his life he was handy. He was handed down that trait from his Dad. But his willingness to help anyone anywhere fix anything was super extraordinary.

We grew up super close to my Tio since he was my dads younger brother and my dad helped raise him when he was younger. I remember every holiday spent visiting or with my Tio and my cousins. So many memories of being young were spent spending the night with my cousin Lisa at my Tios house. He was always laughing and making jokes, and had such a good outlook on life no matter how many times life knocked him down. I loved how close he was with my dad, and they truly looked out for each other. My dad would have been so proud of how he lived his remaining years. It’s all he ever wanted for him. Love you Tio. We will do all we can to honor your wishes and your memory.

Sending prayers to all of you. I'm here if you need anything.  Joe was an amazing person, and he will be greatly missed.

Wow, I forgot about this day. We went to the  Arizona State Fair and of course I  wanted to get dressed up and take a picture. Any father willing to get dressed up like this just to make his daughter happy is the best dad ever!

During our lives we spend on earth we all 
Pray to meet and get to know a special person. Joe Barron  was just that person. He always was willing to help, spend quality time with family..myself and Joe have had a lot of things in common. He has over came the hard times in his life and made it thru it all to become a very good man. He always showed love to all, always had a calm demener when he spoke. He will always be remembered and miss so very much. Joe had so much wisdom in life, to offer always. 

Tata, Big Tata, OG Tata… I will never ever forget you. I’ll make sure my son knows you through beautiful memories we will share with him. You were such a rock in our family, a quiet mentor to my brother and I, an observant caretaker to mom… you played so many roles for different people. You knew how to liven up the room without even trying. You had that natural OG swagger that people gravitated towards. You were a cheerleader and confidant to your grandkids and great grandkids, you really did it all. I can’t thank you enough for the memories I have of you picking me up and watching me after school, calling me “Missing In Action” to which I’ve always heard your voice saying in my head when I introduce myself to someone and they didn’t quite catch my name so I say what you always called me. Another name I loved and cherished from you was “favorite grand daughter” a title I help for a long time.❤️ I’m happy for you that your body is no longer in pain and your suffering was short… however I’m sad for those of us you left behind. We needed more time with you… but I take comfort in knowing we will get it back one day when we are reunited in heaven. We miss you so much old man. 

Joe was a beautiful soul he was like a dad to me and a tata to my kids. He loved being around the family whether it was holidays or birthdays or just hangouts, Joe was always there. Joe was a funny guy always made us laugh. he was also there when you needed him the most. We will never forget you or your memory. You will always be with us. We love you and miss you dearly.

At age 3, I drew this picture of my mom and dad. Notice  I drew one of my dad's eyes in the shape of a heart. That's how much I loved my daddy at age 3. 

My dad was born with such talent. His figurines were very popular but he also hand carved "canes" / "walking sticks" most people who were lucky enough to have one usually used them when hiking trails. This is a picture of him working on a cane in my back yard. He would carve them tn the individuals preferences.  My dad and I even talked about creating his own business making them while I handled all the sales. Problem with that idea is that my dad was never interested in making money off his canes and figurines. The expressions of happiness to own one of his pieces was enough for him. His happiness was to see happiness in others. 

What can I say about my brother…

I am in awe of the strength and dignity in which he faced what he knew were his last days on earth. Joe kept his humor in spite of everything he was going through. 
He chose to spend his days making beautiful memories with his family, working through the pain in order to leave a token of his creativity, something tangible that we could hold and hand down to future generations. 
I will forever cherish our phone conversations, FaceTime chats and my beautiful paper mache figurine.

My Dad was the Greatest Tata Ever! His love for his grandchildren was a sight to see. My daughter Arielle had a rough start to life medically and her Tata always called to check on her. It broke his heart to see his little darling sick or in pain. 
           Thank you Dad for being such a great grandfather to my children. They will know your love forever. Though your physical form will be missed, my kids will continue to be raised knowing there Tata and how much he loves them.

           I am so proud to have this man as my Father. He is my Coach, my Mentor, my Leader, my Hero, my wisdom, my peace, my strength, my friend, my Dad! Even from beyond this world he teaches me and as I sit here thinking of him I feel his presence, I hear his voice guiding me through.
                     My Dad’s love for us never stops. It blows my mind that even in Heaven he is taking time to comfort and guide us.That’s just the man he is. Nothing can stop it.
         Here is a picture of a precious moment that I had with my Dad. It’s a picture of my Dad (Head Coach), Me and some teammates. I love you Dad and am grateful for all the time we spent here on earth. I look forward to seeing you again in Heaven.

My Tata means the world to me. He’s  a mentor, a friend, father figure, and so much more. We could talk for hours about all topics. You name it and my Tata would have all the wisdom. He made learning so fun. He was so god damn funny too. I’ll miss you Tata.

Joe, I didn’t have the opportunity to spend a lot of time with you!  But I know you were a great guy from all the stories Lina and Rachel told me.  You were a very talent artist and I was so amazed to see all the things you created! Rest easy my friend 

I'll always cherish the time spent with tata, listening to his captivating stories of his youth. His wisdom and laughter filled our hearts with warmth.

It almost doesn’t feel real that you are gone. I will never forget how encouraging and supportive you were to all of us growing up and again with the grandchildren. I love you so much Dad that it’s hard to put into words all that you meant to me.  You meant so much to all of us ♥️ I wish we had more time with you but gives me relief that you aren’t hurting anymore. I know I will see you again but until then I’ll have to live off of your memory in my heart. 

Wow it’s hard to believe your time on earth was cut short. It’s hard to believe its true. Each day I wake up and think I’m gonna get to hear one of your fun facts or hilarious jokes. You were such a sweet kind man. The best father in law I could ever ask for. You were always there to help with any project I came up with saying yeah rach we got this. I’m gonna miss watching mexico play soccer and the Steelers play.  Thank you for being an amazing role model for me and thank you for being an amazing father to my wife Lina and grandfather to Jon. You are truly an Angel who touched everyone you came in contact with.  Thank you for your wisdom and love. Our hearts are broken without you hear but I know that you are in heaven smiling down on us. I love and miss you so much pops.

Dad our goal was 70.. 😞 I promise to throw you the grandest party next year.  I wanted more time with you. I never wanted to let you go but I know you are in peace now. No pain.  I love you so much Dad. What am I going to do without you!?
