Helen was a warrior who loved her family and friends unconditionally. Whenever someone was in trouble, Helen never failed to come through for whoever was in need. Numerous times she took in friends, family and animals who needed help or a place to stay. To say she was a nurturing, caring and loving person is an understatement.
Helen spent 25 years working in the medical field as well as managing her household. Whether she was making custom personalized Christmas gifts or fresh homemade tortillas, she was always creating loving memories for her family. She had an unmistakable zest for life and could never turn down a trip to the casino or an opportunity to spoil her grandchildren.
Helen is survived by her children: Manuel Castro, Jr. (Raquel), Veronica Castro-Sotelo (Jorge Sotelo), Mario Castro (Paola), Pablo Castro (Rena), and Bobby Castro (Arcelia), her three sisters and one brother, along with 19 grandchildren,18 great-grandchildren, and another great-grandchild on the way. Helen also leaves behind her beloved Chihuahua, Princess, who has been her companion and best friend for the past 17 years.
Helen is preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Manuel Castro, Sr., her parents, and her two brothers.
Helen was truly loved and will be missed. Although her passing causes grief, her family is happy that she will be joining the love of her life, Manuel, in Heaven.
