Eric Olander was born on a snowy day in Flagstaff, Arizona to Don and Mimi Olander. He passed away peacefully in his home in Glendale, Arizona after a brave fight with a hard illness. He is survived by his wife Aiga and children Anna, Sergei, Kristaps and Maija, mom Mimi and siblings Cristin Morita, Brandon Olander, and the family cats. He was preceded in death by his dad Don.
Eric grew up in Bisbee, Arizona, graduated in 1987 from Bisbee High and went to ASU on Regents scholarship. He graduated from ASU with a Master’s degree in computer science. He worked in the software industry his whole life. He was employed as software development manager for fraud detection applications at Experian at the time of his death.
Eric was a man of many talents and interests with a goofy sense of humor and quick wit. He was a dad and husband, a computer geek, musician, cooking king, brewer, chocolatier and runner. He was loved by everyone who ever met him. He had a gift with computer and foreign languages. He was loved by cats and he loved them back.
Per his request there are no services. There will be a family celebration of life and a memorial run with his running group. Dates to be determined.
