She was born on February 23, 1943 in Stockton, California to the late Alvin and Dorothy Litton.
Carolyn married Richard Gordon, the love of her life, on September 30, 1966. They shared 27 beautiful years of marriage together prior to his passing on May 6, 1993. After Richard passed away, Carolyn’s beloved Dobermans, Hans and Max, were her constant and loyal companions for many years.
Carolyn’s faith in her Savior, Jesus, and the love of her family were most precious to her. Her heart and home were always open and welcoming to family and friends who needed a place to live. Each person she welcomed into her home became a special part of the Gordon family.
She worked for Valley National Bank (now Chase Bank) for forty years until she retired in 2016. She was an avid sports fan, attending sporting events throughout her life, but most enjoyed those of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren who were the light of her life.
Carolyn is loved and survived by three children, Glenn (Cathy) Gordon, Jeff (Amy) Gordon, and Katie (Scott) Wheat, and three siblings, Virginia Appleby, Janet Litton, and Rick Litton. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Glenn Jr., Amber (Brian Dougherty), Meagan (George) Iddings, and Lauren, three great grandsons, Georgie, Luke, and Zion and special niece, Justine; “adopted daughter” Toni Crandall, and extended family. There are many friends who loved Carolyn as she loved them.
Family and Friends are invited to a memorial service celebrating Carolyn’s life on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at 10:00AM at Christ’s Church of the Valley (CCV), Building 400, 7007 W. Happy Valley Rd, Peoria, AZ 85383. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Carolyn’s memory to her favorite charities in support of Arizona Doberman Pinscher Rescue Shelters.
