She was born on November 14, 1936 to Minor and Lena King (both deceased) in Peoria, Illinois. She graduated from East Peoria High School in Peoria, Illinois in 1954. She met her future husband, Joseph L. Ricketts at the First National Bank of Peoria, Illinois where she worked as a bank teller. They married on June 29, 1957. They had four children, Michael (Charlotte), James, Cynthia (Edgar) and Deborah (Andrew). She also has seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. She has one brother, Jerry King, who lives in Georgia. They moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1971, where after raising their four children she worked for Valley National Bank as a bank teller. Later changed to Bank One where she retired in 2001. She spent her vacation traveling with her husband Joe in a travel trailer around the country, including Alaska. She was very active in Our Lady of Perpetual Catholic Church in Glendale. She was active in the Women’s Guild, which helped the church cleaning the linens and various other chores. She counted money for many years and helped in the church office. She was survived by her husband of 65 years.

A funeral service for Carol will be held Thursday, April 20, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary, 7924 North 59th Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301. Following the funeral service will be a graveside service from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, 9925 W. Thomas Road, Avondale, AZ 85392.
