Barbara Ann Meegan

Retired Navy Chief, Mrs. Barbara Ann Meegan passed away on November 26, 2022. She was almost 85. Born in Orono, Maine on November 27 in 1937, she worked for Dunn & Bradstreet in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She had married John "Jack" Francis Meegan, a U.S. Marine. Her station duties included Iwakuni, Japan, Taipei (Taiwan), and Camp Pendleton. Having served 22 years in the Navy, she served an additional 13 years at Luke Air Force Base, working in the OB/GYN Clinic, helping deliver the babies. She even shared when she was "caught" on the elevator delivering twins! (She also served as a Girl Scouts leader, filling the garage with Girl Scouts cookies.) Mrs. Meegan did volunteer with Rosie the Riveters Sun City chapter, at a genealogy library, and on the USS Phoenix Committee. She also volunteered at her church's Ladies Guild at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church in Sun City, Arizona. Survivors include her daughter, Anne-Marie Meegan, who graduated ASU and who went to law school in Connecticut.
