Born October 2, 1948 in Peoria, IL to Lawrence F. and L. Mardell (Whitley) Stake; she married Phillip Paul Marx on April 18, 1970 in East Peoria. He preceded her in death on January 7, 1992, her mother in 2013 and father in 2015.
Surviving are her companion of 25 years, Roger Bessler of Glasford; her children, P. Paul Marx II (Anita Look) of Glasford, Jeffrey (Amanda) Marx of Pekin and Matthew Marx (Lisa Adams) of Mapleton; five grandchildren; her sister, Pamela (Mike, Sr) White of Creve Coeur; her brothers, Lawrence “Butch” (Regeana) Stake, Jr. of Delavan, Michael Stake and Ronald (Debbie) Stake, both of Creve Coeur.
She was a graduate of Woodruff High School in Peoria.
For over 26 years Patricia worked for the Illini Bluffs school district, mostly as a school bus driver for many years and she loved the children she transported to and from school.
She was a very determined woman with an attitude for getting things done. She will be remembered as a hot tempered red head with a heart of gold.
She was a member of St Peters Lutheran Church, Glasford.
Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 pm Wednesday at the Davison-Fulton Woolsey Glasford Chapel, 504 W Main St. in Glasford.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Thursday, July 14, 2016 at the Glasford Chapel with burial to follow at St Peters Lutheran Church Cemetery. The Rev. Harlan Kaden will officiate.
