Louise R. Schrodt-Cox, 81, of Dunfermline, Illinois, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2016 at Graham Hospital Extended Care Unit in Canton, Illinois. She was born on June 10, 1935 in Canton, Illinois to Frank M. and Ruby D. (Davis) Routledge. She first married Gerald W. Schrodt Sr. in 1953. She later married Roland (Bud) Cox on February 14, 1997 in Lewistown, Illinois. He preceded her in death in 2004.
Surviving are her three sons, John T. (Debbie) Schrodt of West Peoria, Gerald W. (Bonnie) Schrodt Jr. of Canton, Donald L. (Lisa) Schrodt of East Galesburg and one daughter Romelle A. Clauson of Glasford. One step-son, Roland R. “Buddy” (Judy) Cox Jr. of Tremont, three step daughters, Cheryl Rosen of East Peoria, Brenda J. (Ross) Cade of Joshua Tree, California and Glenda J. (Darryl) Whitley of Yucca Valley, California. She has 18 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and many step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. She has one brother surviving, Larry F. (JoAnne) Routledge of Clarksville, Tennessee.
She was employed at the Mid Century Telephone Co-Operative in Canton for 30 years retiring in July 1997. The family wishes to thank the entire staff at the Graham Hospital Extended Care Unit for their compassion and care given to Louise during her stay.
A memorial gathering will be Thursday, October 6, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Davison-Fulton Woolsey Funeral Home in Glasford, Illinois. Cremation rites have been accorded. Private inurnment will be Friday at the White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton. Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Midwest Affiliate Hospital for Children or to the donor’s choice.
