He was born November 19, 1952, in Smithville, Missouri, the son of Christian Martin and Vera (Baker) Warring. He graduated from Smithville High School in 1972. Bill worked at Hallmark Cards for 42 years, retiring after several years as a forklift operator. Bill married his first wife, Mary Kern, in 1978. Together they had two children, Ian and Morgan.
In 1995, Bill met and married Kathy Maag. While Bill and Kathy had no children of their own, they did have pets, and of course, they shared the kids.
Bill enjoyed music and played in a band in high school and for some years following. He continued to play the guitar and go to concerts. He loved to share the gospel with people. It made all of the difference in his life, and he wanted the same wonderfulness for others. He also connected to people with his passion for music. His heart was dear. He did love to laugh, too. He and Kathy love their church family at Northland Reformed Church.
Bill was preceded in death by his mother, Vera, step-mother, Joan and his step-brother, Derk Henderson.
Bill is survived by his wife, Kathy Warring, of the home; his father, Christian (Red) Warring; his children, Ian (Ayla), and Morgan (Melvin) Dunsworth; his brothers, Bob (Tammy), and Steve (Nancy); step-brother Mitch (Anita) Henderson and step-sister, Barbara Henderson; and six grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Kristi Winegarner and also Senior Helpers with JoJo and Tammy (and others) for their care and dedication to Bill in his last three years of his life, and Kansas City Hospice with such a great care team of Lisa, Tracy, Audeen, Renee and Ralph. All of these people loved Bill and cared for him beautifully.
