Ronald Gene Shilt age 82 of Liberty, MO passed away January 8, 2018 at NorthCare Hospice House. He was born July 31, 1935 in Newtown, MO to the union of Joseph O. and Hildred M. (Tipton) Shilt. On June 30, 1956 he married Jeannette F. Lutzen and to this union were born two daughters Kimberly Elaine and Kayrena Eileen. After a divorce he married Della M. (Bennett, Sutton, Perez) on July 22, 1972 and gained three step-sons Ronald L. and Jeffrey S. Sutton and Ray A. Perez. Della passed away in 1996. After 43 years he got back with a high school friend, Marietta (Oakley, Bell, Sailor) and they were married September 19, 1997 and to this union he gained another step-son John W. Bell.

Sutton of Kansas City, MO, Jeffrey S. Sutton wife Maria of Las Cruces, NM, Ray A. Perez of Kansas City, MO, John W. Bell wife Elizabeth of Greenwood, MO; five step-grandchildren Kyle Wilkerson wife Katie of Lee’s Summit, MO, Katlyn (Bell) Hartford husband Ian of Lee’s Summit, MO, Kurt Wilkerson wife Liz of Lee’s Summit, MO, Ashley and Drew Bell of Liberty, MO; four step-great-grandchildren Karly and Knox Wilkerson, Rylee Hartford and Samuel Shadduck, three brothers John F. Shilt wife Sandy of Liberty, MO, Joe D. Shilt wife Sharon Chillicothe, MO, Jack R. Shilt wife Linda Kearney, MO and a host of nieces and nephews.
Ronald was preceded in death by parents Joseph O. and Hildred M. (Tipton) Shilt and sister Georgia Jane (Shilt, Slagel) Corbin.
Ronald grew up around Newtown, MO and graduated from Newtown-Harris High School in 1954. He worked at different jobs around Newtown before moving to Kansas City, MO and proceeded in 33 year (22 as an assistant manager) career with Milgram Food Stores. After retiring from Milgram’s, he worked 8 years as a Clay County Deputy Sheriff and stayed on the Reserves for 4 or 5 more years.
Ronald co-owned 3 different airplanes and loved flying them. He enjoyed buying used cars, cleaning and repairing and resale them for a profit. He loved antique clocks, fixing and tinkering with them and also enjoyed repairing used bicycles and selling them cheap or giving them away to small children. His favorite pastimes are square dancing, playing pitch, traveling, cruises, going to Las Vegas, NV and Branson, MO. When he was younger he loved water skiing.
Ronald was a member of Gracemor Christian Church.
Ronald was a sweet and loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, and Friend. He will be missed greatly by his family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 AM Saturday January 13, 2018 at Church Archer Pasley Funeral Home (119 E Franklin St Liberty, MO 64068). Burial will be in Lucerne Cemetery, Lucerne, MO. Visitation will be Friday January 12, 2018 from 6-8 PM at Church Archer Pasley Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to Gracemor Christian Church (5600 NE San Rafael Dr., Kansas City, MO 64119).
