Robert was born on September 11, 1943 in Rome, Georgia to Theodore B. Peacock and Mattie Lee Peacock. After graduating from high school, Robert entered the Air Force and spent four years in Vietnam where he served with honor and distinction. After leaving the military service, Robert moved to Kansas City, Missouri and entered service with the Kansas City Police Department where he spent the remainder of his career. He served in various roles including patrol officer and accident scene investigator, receiving multiple commendations during his career.
While Robert never had children of his own, he was beloved by his nieces and nephews during his frequent family visits where he was always the “cool uncle” who would liven up any family gathering. In later years, Robert loved to bowl and play golf. He also loved to fish and went on several trips into Canada. He was a big-time corgi dog lover of which his latest was Beau, his constant companion. Robert was also an accomplished calligrapher.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Mattie Lee, and sisters Joan Field, Sara Rickman and Claire Hooper.
Robert is survived by his nephews Rick Rickman, Matt Rickman, Bob Rickman and Mark Field. Along with his blood relations.
Robert is survived by his adopted family Michael and Heidi Mooney, their son David and daughter Sarah.
A visitation for Butch will be held Friday, July 21, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM followed by a memorial service at 3:00 PM, all at Newcomer's White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 NE Antioch Road, Gladstone, Missouri 64119
