Dick was born on February 23, 1946 in Mexico, Missouri to Richard Edmund Isaacs and Margaret Lucille (Bishop) Isaacs. He graduated from Mexico High School in 1964 and attended Northeast Missouri State University. He also served in the Missouri Army National Guard. Dick married Barbara Ann Buhr in 1969 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Washington, Missouri. After moving to Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Dick began to working at Compass Minerals, transferred to Muskogee, Oklahoma, then Gladstone, Missouri, where he retired in 2009. His son, Richard Lawrence, was born in 1973 and remembers him as a kind, gentle, but driven father who encouraged him to pursue his goals. Dick was accomplished at bowling and fishing, and often model train railroading. He was a generous, witty, and dedicated individual who loved his family, and who was passionate about Nascar, Kansas City Chiefs, and especially his family. In his younger years, he was an active and dedicated member of the Elk's Lodge and Jaycees.
Dick is preceded in death by his parents, Richard Edmund and Margaret Lucille Isaacs; sister, Mary Lou Miller; and brother-in-law, Donald F. Miller.
Dick is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann Isaacs; son, Richard Lawrence Isaacs and daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Ann Isaacs; grandsons, Richard Carl Isaacs, and Jacob David Isaacs; brother, Charles Clifford Isaacs and sister-in-law, Elke Isaacs; brothers-in-law, Dennis Buhr and wife Karen, and Larry Buhr and wife Lisa. He is also survived by nephews, a niece, and many good friends.
