Paul Howard Worley was born in Topeka, Kansas on January 19, 1927 to Charles and Minnie Worley. In 1928 the family moved to Lawrence, Kansas. Paul lived in Lawrence until her joined the Merchant Marines in January of 1945. While in the Merchant Marines, during World War II Paul traveled to many places, including Hawaii, the Philippines, Chili, the Panama Canal, Italy, Germany, and Belgium. When Paul returned to Kansas, he worked and lived in Topeka until his father died, and he returned to Lawrence to be with his mother.
In September of 1948 Paul joined the U.S. Air Force, serving during the Korean Police Action. While stationed at Scott Air Force Base near East Saint Louis, Illinois, he met Gladys Conley, and they married on July 2, 1949. They were married 61 years until her death on December 2, 2010. They had one daughter, Marla Worley.
While living in East Saint Louis Paul went to work for AT&T in 1953. He continued to work for the company until his retirement on August 1, 1979. In 1956 AT&T transferred the family to Sikeston, MO, then to Branson, MO in 1962. Paul retired in Kansas City, MO where he had been transferred by AT&T in 1967. Paul had many talents and abilities, including electrical, plumbing, concrete work, and any type of building, among other things. He often used these abilities to help others in these areas, building their kitchen cabinets, or decks and fences, putting plumbing or electrical work. Paul and Gladys built a house at a farm near Holt, MO, and enjoyed their time there, although they never actually moved to there. During his life, Paul used his abilities for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, almost single handedly building the Nazarene Church building in Branson, putting the sound systems in other churches, and supporting the Lord’s work. Paul passed from this life on December 22, 2014, and will enjoy eternity with Jesus. Visitation will be at White Chapel Funeral Home from 2 pm to 4 pm, on December 28, 2014. Funeral service will be at the same location on December 29, 2014 at 2 pm.
