She was the devoted mother of three children: Linda Sue Taylor, Marlyn Horine, and Allen (Judy) Matthews. Nelda’s family continued to grow with the joy of grandchildren—Cindy, Robert, Deanna, Brenda, Mike, Tina, and Brian—along with 11 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense pride and happiness.
Nelda was a devout Christian and her faith was a guiding force throughout her life. She was a long-time attendee of several congregations, attending Cumberland Christian Church in Warrensburg, MO, Northland Christian Church, and Bethel United Church of Christ in Kansas City, MO.
Throughout her life, Nelda worked with dedication at the Unitog Factory in Warrensburg, MO, Montgomery Ward, North Kansas City Hospital, and Walmart. She was known for her strong work ethic and her commitment to doing her best in each role.

Her family and friends will always remember her for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for those she held dear.
As a reflection of her faith, the family finds comfort in John 16:22: "So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy."
