She was a graduate of Lillis High School, Kansas City. In her earlier years she was employed by Southwestern Bell and retired from AT&T. Later in her life she retired from Aetna Pharmaceuticals. Mary was adventurous and loved to travel and was an avid reader. Her children and grandchildren will always remember her by her wit and laughter.
She is preceded in death by one son, Robert H. Murphy, Poulsbo, Washington and by her sister Kay Preston.
Mary is survived by her sisters Mrs. Ruth Schafer, Scottsdale, Arizona; Mrs. Patricia Meyer, Lees Summit, MO ; Mrs. Jane Tepper, Lees Summit, MO. A daughter Sondra Barnes of Gladstone, MO; a son Patrick S. Murphy, Poulsbo, WA. Her humor will live on through her grandchildren Jessica Cadue, Kansas City, Jocelyn Highfill, Gladstone, MO; Sara Hoops, Gladstone, MO; Preston Murphy, Poulsbo, WA.
