Mary Green, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, peacefully passed away in her sleep on July 26, 2023, in Gladstone, Missouri, at the age of 80. She was born on January 3, 1943, to her loving parents, Rodolfo and Maria Villanueva and is survived by her brothers Rudy and Lalo Villanueva.
Mary was proceeded in death by her beloved husband, Ernie Green, whom she married in 1963. Their love story was one of commitment and unwavering support. Together, they raised a beautiful family of six children: Gregory Green, Cynthia Green, Eric Green, Shelly Jerrold (spouse Mike Jerrold), Brenda Alderman (spouse Jeffery Alderman), and Debra Gonzales (spouse Fernando Gonzales).
Mary's love and devotion extended beyond her immediate family, as she filled the role of a loving grandmother to twelve grandchildren and great-grandmother to twelve little ones who brought immense joy to her life.
Born in Mexico, Mary fulfilled her dream of becoming a United States citizen in 1986. Her journey was marked by determination and resilience. Mary cherished her Mexican heritage and passed down her cultural traditions to her children and grandchildren.
Mary was a dedicated employee of the Fontana Unified School District, where she served as a Bilingual Specialist for 23 years. Her passion for teaching and helping others was evident in the countless lives she touched and positively influenced throughout her life.
Mary found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life. She possessed a talent for cooking and thoroughly enjoyed experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen. She found joy in making meals that brought her family together around the table, creating treasured memories. Mary also had a passion for shopping, finding delight and excitement in every purchase she made and enjoyed treating her loved ones to special gifts.
Mary will be remembered as the glue that held her family together, consistently placing the needs and well-being of others above her own. She embodies a selfless and giving nature, always offering a helping hand and supporting her loved ones through both joyous and challenging times. Mary’s warm and caring nature touched the lives of many and left a mark on the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known her.
As we say goodbye, we take solace in the fact that Mary is now reunited with the love of her life Ernie, enjoying eternal peace and happiness. Though we mourn her loss, and our hearts are heavy, we also celebrate the incredible life that she lived. Mary leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
A Celebration of Life for Mary will be held Saturday, August 19, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Belvoir Winery and Inn, 1325 Odd Fellows Road, Liberty, Missouri 64068.
