Mary was born on September 20th, 1959, in Beatrice, NE to Norman and Bernice Jury. She graduated from Research College of Nursing in 1984 with a degree in nursing. Mary married former husband Harold Sprague in 1983. She worked for several years as a nurse in different fields. Over the next decade the couple had 3 children. Her children remember her as an ever-loving mother who gave the fiercest hugs. She was a generous individual who loved gift giving and who was passionate about her children and grandchildren. She was a lifelong member of the Catholic Church.
She is preceded in death by her son Michael Sprague, parents Norman and Bernice Jury, sisters Judi Bandars, and Patricia Jury.
Mary is survived by her daughter Sarah Dickson of Gretna, NE (Justyn), grandsons James and Landon; son Harold Sprague, III of Suffolk, VA (Chelsea), grandsons Brayden and Parker, granddaughter Norah and expected granddaughter Lylah; granddaughter Emery Sprague. Siblings Emilie Martz of Springfield, MO, Jackie Jury of Kirkland, WA, Debbie Jury of Hermosa Beach, CA, Ron Jury (Sarah) of Kansas City, MO, Don Jury (Kathy) of Kirkland, WA, Steve Jury (Patti) of Scottsdale, AZ.
The family would like to thank her sister, Debbie Jury, for her tireless care and dedication to Mary over the last 12 years. Her hard work was very appreciated by so many and can never be repaid. We love you and thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Visitation is scheduled for Friday, May 6th at 10 AM, Memorial Service to follow at 11 AM. Address is Newcomer’s White Chapel Funeral Home 6600 NE Antioch Road Gladstone, MO 64119. Following services we will be enjoying a meal together at Stroud’s at 5410 NE Oak Ridge Dr. Kansas City, MO 64119, in honor of Mary. Please understand that each guest will be responsible for their own meal and/or beverages of his or her choice. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mary’s life. We hope to see you there!
