Marilyn was born on June 30, 1938 in King City, MO to Vernon Glenn Evans and Velma Fern Evans (Kemp). She attended North Platte High School where she was a 4-year letter in basketball and was near the top of her class each year. After graduating, Marilyn married Don, her high school sweetheart in September 1956. Over the next few years, they had three children while living in Tacoma, WA, Linkville, MO, and West Fargo, ND. After that, the family returned to Missouri for good to live in Gladstone. After all her children were in school, Marilyn began working outside the home in several jobs, finishing her career with nineteen years at Butler Manufacturing. She also loved bowling and was a certified instructor. In her later years, she was an active and dedicated member of the Fairview Christian Church and attended services regularly until the pandemic and subsequent health problems made it impossible.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Donald Sidney Miller, and her brother, Stanley Eugene Evans.
Marilyn is survived by her son Richard Glenn Miller, son Steven Ray Miller, and daughter Karen Jean Hanaway and her husband David. She is also survived by four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 1:00pm on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Newcomer's White Chapel Funeral Home at 6600 NE Antioch Rd, Gladstone, MO 64119. A memorial service will follow at 2:00pm with a short graveside service afterward. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Marilyn's life.
