Linda was born on December 5, 1956, to David and Frances Gantz in Freeport, Illinois, spending her formative years in Shannon, Illinois. As an adult, she resided in Pleasant Valley, Missouri, with her husband, Darold Schmoll, where they raised their three daughters, Dawn, Jennifer, and Emily.
Following Darold's passing, Linda found peace beneath Montana's expansive skies.
She was not only an exceptional mother, grandmother, and sister but also a devoted caretaker of her family. She held a special place in her heart for her beloved dog, Sam. Her interests included being an avid reader, a passionate supporter of the Kansas City Chiefs, and engaging in various hobbies such as shooting sporting clays, gold prospecting, camping, fishing, and exploring the mountains. During her children's formative years, she was a dedicated homemaker. Later in life, she worked at a Hy-Vee grocery store as a salad bar attendant, forming lasting friendships.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Darold Schmoll and her daughter, Emily Schmoll.
She is survived by daughters, Dawn (Karl) Aldrich and their children, Madison and Jackson of Edwardsville, Illinois, & Jennifer (James) Fisher and their son Owen of Billings, Montana.
She is also survived by sisters, Nancy (John) LaMagdeleine and Doris (Paul) White, brother, Denny (Kathy) Gantz; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Newcomer's White Chapel Funeral Home on Saturday, November 25, beginning with visitation at 10:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in White Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
