Linda was born on September 29, 1958, to Walter and Phyllis Pickering in Piqua, Ohio. She married Randall James in 1977. They were blessed with three sons, William, Anthony, and Patrick. After their marriage ended, she worked at JCPenney Catalog in Lenexa, Kansas. Later, she became a deli manager for Macaluso's Thriftway and Sunfresh grocery stores in Kansas City, Missouri.
As a girl, she enjoyed playing the clarinet and piano. She also enjoyed time spent with family at King's Island Amusement Park in Mason, Ohio. While in High School, she was in Track and Band. She always dreamed of being the first woman to play in the Ohio State Marching Band and to dot the "I."
She loved her boys and her grandchildren, and worked to instill good family values in them to pass down. She was everyone's Grandma, and she would give you the Grandma look when you deserved it. Her family and friends will remember her as a very strong, humble, and selfless mother and friend who was very dedicated to her work and for her love of Kansas City Sports.
