Larry was born April 26, 1947 in Kansas City, MO to Nelson Ray and Violet Ruth (Black) Pemberton. He graduated from the University of Central Missouri with a B.S. Degree in Criminal Justice Larry enlisted in the Army on June 14, 1965. He served as an infantryman. He was in Korea for 13 months at the DMZ during heightened tensions and during the Chicago Race Riots in 1967 in the 1st Armored Division. He was a member of the Polar Bear B Company and was Honorably Discharged in 1968 as a Spec 4 E-4 Larry married Lynda Hein on January 6, 1967 and they had one child, Jennifer Lynn Pemberton.
He was preceded in death by his parents and also his sister Donna Sue Thompson. Larry retired from the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, MO. He was employed there as a Federal Police Officer and was the Firearms Instructor. His proudest career accomplishment was having graduated from Smith-Wesson Academy, Sig Arms Graduation and NRA Graduation. He was a member of the Internal Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors and American Society of Law Enforcement Trainers. Larry married Linda (Caton)Pemberton on January 13, 2001. She survives at the home in Basehor, Kansas.

Giuseppe and Gabrielle, who loved him dearly. Larry’s daughter Jennifer Pemberton and her children Addison Newberry, Cordell Newberry, Britt Hamilton, Nicholas Dunn, Paige Dunn and Tyler Dunn. Larry’s half-sister Clarice Smith and her children Dylon Pemberton, Bradley Smith and Thomas Smith, and 6 Great-Grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.
A visitation for Larry will be held Tuesday, January 31, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A funeral service will occur at 2:00 PM. A graveside service with military honors will follow all at White Chapel Funeral Home and Cemetery, 6600 NE Antioch Road, Gladstone, Missouri 64119.
