Ladonna shared 40 loving years with her life partner, Karen Conard, who preceded her in death. Together, they enjoyed a life filled with laughter and mutual devotion. Professionally, Ladonna was a respected subcontractor, primarily collaborating with the public administrators' office and Holland Real Estate Co. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to own two popular bars in Kansas City, The Golfball and The Runaway, which became local favorites under her management.
Beyond her business acumen, Ladonna was deeply committed to her family. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Roxie Loyd; sister and brother-in-law, Teresa and Ray Harris; nephews and nieces, Tommy Harris, Misty Amelung, Bronson Harris, Hannah Hoy, and Brittany Green; along with 17 great-nieces and nephews and one great-great niece. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tommy Lee Loyd and Henrietta Loyd, and her life partner, Karen Conard.
Ladonna's hobbies included cheering for the Kansas City Chiefs, but her greatest joy was found in the time spent with her family, particularly doting on the younger generations. Her warm presence and nurturing spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be held from 12-1 pm followed by a service from 1-2 pm at Newcomers White Chapel on Antioch. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to ReHope, a long-term residential program for victims of human trafficking, a cause close to Ladonna's heart. Her legacy of kindness and community involvement will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to know her.
