Kenneth Gerald Wohlgemuth, 86, peacefully passed on Thursday, April 28, 2022 from natural causes at NorthCare Hospice House, in Kansas City, Missouri. He was born to Rudolph and Rose Wohlgemuth in Detroit, Michigan, on November 12, 1935. He was the fourth of seven children: sisters Dolores Meyer, deceased, Judy Sanders, deceased, and Nancy Harrell, along with brothers Gary Wohlgemuth, deceased, Daryl Wohlgemuth, deceased, and Gregory Wohlgemuth. Ken graduated from Garden City High School in 1954.
On December 20, 1955, in Garden City, Michigan, he married his life-long sweetheart Donna Jean Wohlgemuth, who preceded him in death by only 17 months. Together, they enjoyed taking cruises with friends, going out to eat, and participating in church activities. After graduation from high school, he entered seminary, beginning years of service to the Lord as a pastor, a music minister, and a deacon. He also worked as a restauranteur, a department store manager, a real estate broker, and a member of the zoning board of Kansas City.
He is survived by his children Cynthia (Scott) Lakin, Denise (Greg) Reynolds, Kevin (Joyce) Wohlgemuth; sister Nancy (Elliott) Harrell and brother Gregory (Helen) Wohlgemuth. He was preceded in death by his oldest son Ricky (Fran) Wohlgemuth. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
