He was born March 7, 1948 in Louisville, Kentucky, the son of James Edward Nord Sr. and Carolyn Louise (Watson) Nord. John graduated from Clarksville High School in Clarksville, Indiana with the Class of 1968.
“John boy”, a cool dude, a Mr. Fixit, a multi master of life’s challenges. He kept his troubles to himself, kept you on your toes with his quick wit, a joke, a laugh, punctuated with a mischievous smile.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Carolyn Nord; one brother, James Edward Nord Jr. (Jimbeau); and one sister, Virginia Carney.
John is survived by his wife of 44 years, Mary Todd Nord, of the home; four children, Jonna Hamlin (Tony) of Lee's Summit, Missouri, Keri Nord of Clarksville, Indiana, Garrick Nord of Kansas City, Missouri; and Kelsey Nord of Kansas City/Nashville; a Dudepa to eight grandchildren, Kristian, Luke (Morgan), Makenzie, Jacob (Mayson), Haiden, Kailen, Kylie, Kasey; two great grandchildren, Kapri and Marrick; brother, Paul Nord (Beverly) of Henderson, Kentucky; sister, Barbara Nord-Campassi (Larry) of Frankfort, KY; his extended family, mom, Margie Nord Hill, sister, Terri Buck, brother, David Mitchell(Bonnie) all of Florida; and his beloved horse, Willie.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at White Chapel Funeral Home, Gladstone, Missouri, Hospitality Room, 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
An additional celebration will be held for his beloved family and friends on Sunday, June 11, 2023, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, at Bill's on the Hills, located in the Oak Capital Golf Club, 1605 IN-62 NE, Corydon, IN, 47112.
