Jeffrey Scott Griffis, 68, of North Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, November 12th 2024. He was born October 30th, 1956, in Portland, Oregon, the son of John Marilyn and Thelma D. Griffis.
Jeff graduated from Reynolds High School in Portland, Oregon. He then served in the Marine reserves , he graduated from Third Battalion Platoon 3004 on April 2nd 1975.
During Jeffery’s working life he served as a boilermaker, and then devoted 35 years of service to Ozark National Life Insurance before retiring in December of 2021.
Throughout his life, he pursued a variety of passions that brought him joy. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish, hunt, and ride his motorcycle. He also enjoyed watching the Kansas City Chiefs, golfing, bowling, and listening to live music. Jeff’s warmth, sense of humor, and love for life touched all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of sharing in his life. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Saint Judes Memorial Hospital. He will forever be remembered for his adventurous spirit and his love for the simple pleasures of life.
A celebration of life will be held for family and friends from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, on December 14, 2024, at White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 NE Antioch Road, Gladstone, Missouri, 64119.
Jeffery is survived by his wife, Barbara Griffis, of the home; two children, Sarah Emiley Thomassie of Kansas City, MO, Jeffery Scott Griffis II of Kansas City, MO, two Step daughters, Heather Falcon of Gladstone, MO & Amber Wheeler of Kansas City, MO, one step son, Patrick Wheeler of North Kansas City, MO, two grandchildren, Chance Shearer and Wren Thomassie; four step grandchildren, Mavorick Wheeler, Cruz Wheeler, Isabella Falcon and Julian Falcon; two brothers, Steven Bradley Griffis of Portland, OR, John Michael Griffis of Mexico City, MX.
