Jim was preceded in death by his father Troy Harris, mother Pauline Harris, his brother Larry Harris, and his sister Mary Lou Smith. He was survived by his sister Linda Mullen (Phil) and his brother Tom Harris (Gwyn). He was the loving husband of Mary Lee, father of April (Mike) Semanko, Kenny Harris, and Julie (Lee) Bailes. The grandfather of Michael (Libertie) Semanko, Jesse Semanko, Makayla (Tyler) Jordan, Karson Harris, Ryan Bailes, and Lacie Bailes. He also had the pleasure of becoming the great-grandfather of Kaitlynn and Kash Jordan. Jim also was the father to his fur babies, Mika, Phoebe, and Zeke.
Jim was born in Trail Missouri. After high school, Jim served in the army from 1968-1972 and was honorably discharged as an E-4 as a Specialist. After leaving the army, Jim had a long career that he enjoyed as a semi-truck driver for Amoco, Arkansas Freight, FedEx, and many more. When Jim was not working, he spent his time traveling with his family to places such as Colorado, Southern Missouri, Niagara Falls and more. Jim enjoyed fishing, attending family picnics/holiday gatherings and of course lighting up a room with his contagious laugh and corny jokes. Forever in our hearts and memories.
In lieu of flowers, donations to KC Pet Project would be greatly appreciated.
A Visitation for Jim will be held Friday, September 9, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM with a Memorial service at 2:00 PM. A Graveside Service with Military Honors will immediately follow, all at White Chapel Funeral Home and Cemetery, 6600 NE Antioch Road, Gladstone, Missouri 64119.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.dwnwhitechapel.com for the Harris family.
