Ian was born March 12, 1994 in Kansas City, Missouri to Jerry and Stacey (Schulz) Hawkins. He was a 2012 graduate of Liberty High and was a letterman in diving and swimming. He then attended University of Missouri-Rolla majoring in Chemical Engineering. Ian really enjoyed skateboarding, ultimate frisbee, and golf as well as he had a strong passion for baseball/softball. Folks might remember him as the best delivery guy for their Northern Light’s Pizza’s as well as Domino’s. Ian started with FedEx as a package handler working his way to an Area Manager overseeing new hires and retention of employees, as well human resource situations at the 210 Hwy facility. Ian and his fiancée, Brina loved to travel to Florida and Colorado, hiking in the mountains and being in nature, cruising on the motorcycle, playing darts, trying new foods and finding new restaurants, playing online games as well as card games (Magic the Gathering), majoring in being a fireworks pyro and being the life of the party lighting up the room wherever he was and being with family
Ian was preceded in death by grandpa, Skip Schulz; father, Gerard (Jerry) Hawkins; and a cousin, Hunter Miller.
Survivors include his fiancée of 3 years, Brina Sontheimer; mother, Stacey (stepdad Jeff) Hunter; sisters, Shelby (Josh) Morgan and Nina Marie P. Hawkins; nephews, Elam, Everett, and Eli Morgan; maternal grandmother, Barbara Schulz; aunts, Stephanie (Todd) Herthel and family and Sarah (Brian) Gaddy and family; in-laws; Jessica Bradshaw, Erik (Bree) Sontheimer, Caleb and Allyson Bradshaw, Donald and Susan St. Ama; 4 fur babies; as well as many friends and loved ones.
A Memorial Celebration will be Saturday August 28 from 11 AM - 5 PM at Stocksdale Park in Liberty, Missouri; please bring an appetizer, food, drinks, and your chairs.
