Gwen was born September 20, 1957 in Salina, Kansas to Curtis F. and Patricia "Pat" (Nichols) Keith. Her father was in the Navy and Air Force so they moved around quit a bit before finally residing in Lucas, Kansas. She graduated in 1975 from Warner Robins High School. Gwen worked for 35 years and retired from the Corps of Engineering in 2014. She was also a member of NFFE and Chief Stewart of Luina. In 2012 she moved to Alaska and gained a daughter from a relationship, Brittany M. Stickly. Gwen moved back to Kansas City in 2018 to be with her son and brought her daughter with her. She lived with Fibromyalgia for most of her life.
Gwen was preceded in death by her parents, and brother Jeffery L Keith.
Survivors include her son Rick Stroemer, daughter, sister Patty (Doug) Moore, aunt Shirley (Melvin) Bates , 4 cousins Terry Bates, Kayla Dickinson (Bates), Wesley Bates and Dennis Bates, 3 nieces Shana Schendt (West), Ashley Otto (West) and Hannah Bates, 3 nephews Jacob West, Dax Bates and Kyler Bates and a great niece Reagan Schendt. Gwen was also survived by her dogs Bear, Tina, Sambo, Rusty, Brutus, Reba, Thor and Stryker.
Gwen loved riding her motorcycle, going swimming, Loved dancing and loved her Nebraska and Kansas City Chiefs Football and actually understood the game. But most importantly was her love for her Great Danes! Rick's girlfriend Melissa and their 3 boys Matthew, Dalton and Broxton. Spoiling Broxton was Gwen's specialty.
