Glorine was born February 19, 1942, in rural Chippewa County to Leo and Amalea (Bartz) Gaulke.
She was baptized on March 1, 1942, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Appleton, MN. She graduated from Appleton High school in 1960. On February 27, 1960, she was united in marriage to Alan Bahl. Two weeks later Alan left for Germany with the Army and Glorine joined him in November 1960. Her one regret was that she missed meeting Elvis in Germany by a couple weeks as he had already gone back to the states.
Glorine was a devoted military wife and mother to their two children, Vonnie and Curtis, as they moved around the world before settling in Kansas City, MO in 1981 where she lived until her death.
Glorine’s biggest loves were her husband, her family and her dogs. She always enjoyed time spent with her loved ones, and was always up for a game of Yahtzee since she always seemed to win. She shared in the joys and accomplishments of others and was always a source of encouragement along the way. She effortlessly made each person feel heard, loved and important. She always had time to lend an ear and offer life advice and did it without judgement. Her pride and joy could be seen in her face and heard in her voice when talking about her kids, grandkids and great grandchildren.
She spent her life working in retail, banking and office work. When she retired, her and Alan purchased a small RV and that began almost 20 years of RVing around the United States enjoying the sights and people they met along the way. She cherished the friendships of the people in their RV club communities and would share her experiences with family upon every return home. And of course, there were always a couple of dogs to go along for the ride. Glorine was an active member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. She was an avid collector of Hummels which began when she was in Germany.
Glorine is survived by her husband, Alan, daughter, Vonnie Kesse (Glenn) of Kansas City, MO and son, Curtis Bahl (Jessica) of Lee’s Summit, MO; grandsons; Joshua Koepke (Nicole) of Kansas City, MO, Cody Bahl and Caden Bahl, both of Lee’s Summit, MO; Tanner Shipley; granddaughters Desiree Cashion (Dan) of St. Louis, MO and Jenna Shipley of Lee’s Summit, MO; great-grandchildren, Audrey Cashion and Amalea Cashion of St. Louis, MO, Gavin Koepke of Liberty, MO, Payton Koepke of Edgerton, MO, Gage Koepke, Carmen Sohn and Cheyenne Sohn of Kansas City, MO; sister, Bonnie Spry (Dana) of Appleton, MN; as well as many nephews and nieces and other relatives.
