George Robert "Bob" Davis, 79, Excelsior Springs, MO, formerly of Peculiar and Richmond, MO, was called home by his Heavenly Father unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 with his loving family by his side.
Bob was born December 30, 1942 in Kansas City, MO to George Raymond "Ray" Davis and Phyllis (Parrino) Davis. Bob served in the United States Army where he obtained the rank of Staff Sergeant. He devoted his life to his family, youth and education. He graduated from CMSU in 1977 with a degree in education. Over the next 27 years, Bob devoted his life to education as a school teacher. He spent most of his adult life as a leader in the Boy Scouts of America where he mentored countless youth. He was an ordained Elder in the Community of Christ Church. Bob was a Keeper of the Wampum in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. He would always end each encounter with anyone he met with “have a blessed day”. He was a devoted Christian and strong in his faith and love of the Lord.
In 1999, he met the love of his life, Sharon, and they wed in 2000. They spent 21 years forging a marriage of love, compassion, and faith. When asked what they loved about each other, they each said their love for children.
Sharon was called home just 6 months before Bob on September 20, 2021. He is survived by one brother Gary (Laurie) Davis and six children Ray Davis, Phillip (Stephanie) Davis, Joseph (Devyn) Davis, Lisa Kobularcik (Roger Moser), Alan (Brandy) Schaefer, and Mike (Kelly) Schaefer. Sixteen grandchildren, Tylor (Jessica) Whitham, Tyler (Brooke) Reynolds, Lyndsay Reynolds (James), Katie Davis (Aiden), Brandon Reynolds, Elijah Davis, Ruth Davis, Cooper Davis, Hannah Davis, Rachel (Zach) Burton, Grahm Burton, Elizabeth Burton (Trenton), Anna Kobularcik (Tristan), Alison Schaefer, Hayden Schaefer, and Makayla Schaefer. Four great-grandchildren Addison, Leland, Conrad and Charlotte, and two on the way. Nieces Christy (Mark) Wright, Tracy Kimberling, and nephew, whom he affectionately referred to as his nephew-son, Brett Davis. A "surrogate" son Daniel Gilbert, many cousins, scouting family, and students.
In addition to his wife and parents, Bob was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Davis, at birth. Uncles and Aunts Phillip (Congetta) Parrino, Thomas (Connie) Parrino, and Joe (Virginia) Parrino.
A Visitation will be held Saturday, April 23, 2022, at 10:00 AM followed by a Celebration of Life with Mic-O-Say Honors at 11:00 AM at Flack Memorial Church, 1300 Tracy Ave, Excelsior Springs, MO 64024.
