She was born in North Kansas City, MO to Denzel Barr and Doris Barr Dietrich.
She was a 1977 graduate of Oak Park High School. She graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and in 1986 with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine.
Dianne is remembered as a kind and gentle veterinarian, animal advocate, and a loving daughter, sister and friend. She was employed at Parkville Heights Animal Hospital prior to her illness. She specialized in small animal medicine and was also devoted to caring for wildlife. She loved all animals but had a special interest in caring for orphaned raccoons and kittens. She was a volunteer for the Lakeside Nature Center.
Dianne was preceded in death by her father, Denzel Barr, and her stepfather, H.S. Sam Dietrich. She is survived by her mother, Doris Barr Dietrich; her sister, Denise Barr; and her brothers David Barr and Bryce Dietrich.
At Dianne's request, no services are planned at this time. Memorial donations may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Friends of Parkville Animal Shelter, or Friends of Lakeside Nature Center.
