Daniel Richard Pennington

Daniel Richard Pennington, 46, of Kansas City, MO went to be with his Lord on April 5, 2017. Daniel was born to Richard Pennington and Dorothy (Newsome) Moreno in Independence, MO. Daniel attended Northeast High School and was a 1989 graduate of Winnetonka High School. He proudly served in the US Marine Corp as a Corporal during the Gulf War in Operation Desert Storm. On February 14, 1996 Daniel married his high school sweetheart, Heather Harkrider. Daniel was very active and supportive with his son’s sports, going fishing, camping, canoeing. Daniel was very active on the website Arrowhead Pride and was an avid Royals fan. Daniel was preceded in death by his sister, Teresa Florez, and step-sister, Stephanie Lankford. Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Heather; sons, Bryce and Jacob; parents, Dorothy (Tony) Moreno and Richard (Pat) Pennington; in-laws, Leslie and Bob Harkrider; sister-in-law, Heidi Thomas; siblings, Mike Pennington, Sheryl Janeski, Lisa Kavanaugh and Melanie Perez; step-brothers and sisters, Steve Plake, Kathe Hartford, Maria Waters, Anthony Moreno, Jr., Andrea Moreno, Anita Bowman, Chris Moreno and Carlos Moreno; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at White Chapel Funeral Home. Services will be 10 AM Thursday, April 13, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will be at 1 PM at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, Missouri, with full Military Honors. Memorials are suggested to Disabled Veterans.
