Caden Michael McGuire died in his home on October 23, 2015 in Gladstone, Missouri due to complications following a long battle with cancer. He was 11. Caden was born on October 15, 2004 in North Kansas City, Missouri to his parents, Eric McGuire and Crystal Shoemaker. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his father and grandfather along with spending time with friends and family. Caden had a tremendous love for 4X4 trucks, country music and motorcycles. He aspired to become a Police Officer as an adult. The Village of Claycomo, Missouri made Caden an honorary Police Officer in 2011. The City of Gladstone later entitled him as an Honorary Public Safety Officer during a ceremony that bestowed him with the title of Honorary Sheriffs Deputy in both Clay and Platte Counties. Caden is survived by his mother, Crystal Shoemaker of Gladstone, Missouri, father, Eric McGuire of Claycomo, Missouri, eight-year-old sister, Cindy McGuire, Great-Grandfather Bob McClure, Nee and Poppy McGuire and Grammy and Papa Shoemaker. Caden leaves behind aunts, uncles, cousins, great aunts, great uncles, and friends (Team Caden). All supported him during his illness and aspire to be as (Caden Strong) as one determined young man could be. Caden is proceeded in death by his Gigi (Betty McKay). Visitation will be held at White Chapel Funeral home, 6600 N. Antioch, Gladstone, Missouri on Thursday October, 29th 6-8pm. Funeral services will be held at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, 1600 N 291 Hwy Liberty, MO on Friday October, 30th at 11am followed by graveside services being held at White Chapel Cemetery in Gladstone, Missouri. The family requests casual dress to remind everyone of Caden’s love for the camo, cowboy hat, boots and no sleeves lifestyle he lived.
