Benjamin Henry Woodson, 95, of Gladstone, MO passed away at his home April 4, 2017 in the company of his niece and caregiver, Connie Woodson Doran, and the Crossroads Hospice staff. Benjamin was born February 10, 1922 in Kansas City, MO. He was a Marine Corp veteran and served in World War II from 1943-1945. After returning home, he married R. Irene (Marsh) in September 1945, and enjoyed 71 years of marriage. He was an avid woodcarver and a member of the Woodcarvers Association. Benjamin was also very involved with Boy Scouts Troop 272 and was an Eagle Scout himself. He got to live a dream by being part of Honor Flight Kansas City in November 2016, traveling to Washington DC. Benjamin is survived by his son, Benjamin Woodson and fiancé Imelda of the Philippines, as well as several nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Benjamin was preceded in death by his parents, four siblings and three children from a previous marriage. Visitation will be Monday, April 10, 2017 at 10:00 am, with funeral services to follow at 11:00 am at White Chapel Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorials to Crossroads Hospice: Gift of the Day or Honor Flight of Kansas City.
