Born in Glace Bay in 1924, Milie was the daughter of John and Suzie Moffatt.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Millie was the loving wife of the late Howard Hayes and the adoring mother of
Douglas Hayes (Barbara), Glace Bay and Wayne (Wendy), Kamloops, BC.
Surviving is her daughter-in-law, Barbara Hayes (Glace Bay), her grandchildren
and lights of her life, Amanda Hayes-Burnett (Sean), Kent Hayes (Emir Delic),
Kelsey and Zaria Hayes, great grandchildren, Emma and Ryan Toope.
As per Millie's wishes,cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Patten Funeral Home, there will be no visitation. Her family will quietly celebrate
the life of this extraordinary mother and grandmother together as per her request.
Donations in Millie's memory may be sent to the Hospice Palliative Care Society
of Cape Breton.
