It is with great sadness that we the family announce the sudden passing of our dear son, brother and father, Craig Kelloway on May 4,2013 in Calgary, AB at the age of 31. Born in Glace Bay, Craig was the son of Harvey and Monica Kelloway. During his childhood, Craig played little league baseball, both Mosquito and for the Glace Bay Colonels. Craig was also very involved in hockey playing minor hockey and for the Glace Bay High School Panthers. Craig graduated from Glace Bay High School 1999. He attended St. Francis Xavier University graduating in 2003 with his BSc in Human Kinetics. He then attained his Bachelor of Education from Acadia University in 2005. In 2007, Craig moved to Calgary and was hired by the Calgary Board of Education at David Thompson School, teaching Math and Science. Craig was always very involved in activities in his school. He was an assistant coach of the basketball team and also ran a very popular floor hockey league. He encouraged a positive athletic lifestyle for students at the school. As a science teacher he was known to have very innovative and creative ideas. His students had an amazing respect for him. He was supportive of other teachers with whom he worked. Craig was known to lend a hand to help with anything. The highlight of his week was his after-school teacher hockey league. Craig always enjoyed his summer vacations home in Cape Breton. Most of all, he loved every single moment he spent with his son Blake who was his pride and joy. Craig will be lovingly remembered by his parents Harvey and Monica (Buckley) Kelloway, his son Blake, his brother Sean (Lauren), Goddaughter and niece Avery, Goddaughters Kayla and Keara, aunts and uncles Glenda (Glace Bay), Orville and Teresa and
(Galt,ON ) Shirley (Glace Bay) Patsy and Elliot (Glace Bay), Brantford (Burlington, ON), and cousins Deneca, Peter, Shannon, and Nadara. Craig was predeceased by his grandparents Orville and Anastasia Kelloway, and Thomas and Elizabeth Buckley, and his uncle Ivan. As per the wishes of the family they would like you to join them on Monday, May 13th at 2p.m. for a graveside service at Forest Haven Memorial Gardens with Martha MacDonald officiating. Following the interment, a luncheon will be held at the Reserve Mines Fire Hall.
