Cheryl was born on March 29, 1955 to the late Harry and Winnifred (Miller) Gardiner and lived most of her life in and around Glace Bay. She started her working career with Layton Ferguson Law Firm, but most of her working life was spent with Sobeys. She was a longtime member of Knox United Church and a lover of music, singing with the Songbirds Choir. Cheryl loved the holidays, especially Christmas. She would always make the most of any occasion.
She is survived and will be missed by her husband Gerard, brother Richard 'Rick' (Jean), niece Rhonelda (Dean) and nephew Richard (Tammy) as well as great nieces, great nephews and many friends including close friends Carla, Geraldine and Veronica, along with her family in Newfoundland.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by an infant brother James.
A funeral service will be held at Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union St. on Monday, Feb. 27 at 2:30pm with Rev. Alison Etter officiating. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery at a later date.
