Kay was a kind and gentle soul who will be greatly missed by her devoted children: Kim Keller (Wade), Kathy MacLellan, David (Tammy) and three cherished grandsons: Kody King (Brianna), Zachary and Lucas MacLellan as well as many lifelong friends.
Kay is predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Herbert (Herb) King, as well as brothers, John T, Gordie, Stevie, Kenny and sister Glenda. She is survived by sisters: Cheryl, Elaine, Dolena, Regie, Jackie, Leslie (Blair) and brother Billy.
Kay was a long term employee at Seaview Manor until her retirement. She loved to walk, skate, read, knit, quilt, play Bunko and do puzzles, but most of all she loved to bake. Her famous shortbread cookies were sure to make an appearance at all family gatherings.
The family would like to acknowledge the love, kindness and support of Marion and Dennis Hiscock. Words can not express our gratitude for all you have done.
Thank you to the nursing staff and doctors on the 3rd floor of Glace Bay General who showed such compassion during her hospital stay.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place from 1 until 2pm with a Celebration of life starting at 2pm on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union St., Glace Bay. Light refreshments to follow.
