Cindy K McBride

Cindy K. (Dickinson) McBride, 63, of Gering, Nebraska passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at home surrounded by family. A memorial service will be held Friday, June 10, 2022 at West Lawn Cemetery in Gering, Nebraska at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Tim Hebbert officiating. The family requests casual attire for the service. Memorials may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.

Cindy was born June 21st, 1958 to Frank Dickinson and Luella Flack in Scottsbluff, NE. She married husband of 49 years, Jeff McBride, on October 27, 1972 and the couple went on to have four children who they raised in the Scottsbluff and Guymon, Oklahoma area.

Cindy spent most her working years as a manager of various convenience stores where she greatly enjoyed her interactions with her many customers. “Regulars” became friends and Cindy enjoyed having the opportunity to continuously meet and mingle with people of every walk of life.

In her free time, Cindy relished the opportunity to spend time with her kids and grandkids. She was always ready to babysit and entertain her grandchildren and had a special relationship with each and every one of them. She has long been known as “Grandma” to many in the family, no matter her relationship to them. She was quick to have a smile for everyone she encountered and was no stranger to lending a helping hand to anyone that asked. Her children will always remember having a best friend at home, no matter their age, and will greatly miss her unconditional love and support.

Cindy will be remembered fondly by anyone who had the opportunity to know her, and even more dearly by those who had the opportunity to love her. She was a gentle spirit with a heart that was ten times the size her small stature should have been able to hold. She was a strong, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, and those who truly know her knew she was just the right amount of sweet and spicy. She loved fiercely and was loved with just the same vigor.

Cindy is survived by her husband of 49 years, Jeff McBride; brothers Mike, Jack, and Max Dickinson; step-brother Mike Simpson; step-sister Melanie (Simpson) Tinsley; children Amy Rice, Kari McBride, and James McBride; grandchildren Brad, Jordyn, Madison, Sydney, Jaycee, Jaylah, Jayten, Julie, Brynn, Jemi, and Ella; bonus daughters Chrissandra Chasteen and Candace Hatfield, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Frank Dickinson and Luella Flack, father-in-law Merle McBride, mother-in-law Donna McBride, brother David Dickinson, son Jason McBride, grandson Jeffery Rice, and granddaughter Hanna McBride.
