Stephen Robert Campbell, age 74 years old, of Round Rock, Texas, passed away December 8, 2022, in his home from Alzheimer’s.
Steve graduated from the United States Coast Guard Academy in 1972 with an Engineering degree. He married in 1973 during his first deployment on the Coast Guard cutter Reliance, in Corpus Christi, Texas. He had duty stations in Juneau, Alaska, Washington, DC, Honolulu, Hawaii, Portsmouth, and San Francisco, California. During his time in the Coast Guard he attended George Washington University and graduated with a law degree specializing in admiralty law. Steve served for 22 years of service within the Coast Guard and joined the Department of Justice for 18 years, and moved to Round Rock, Texas in 2013.
Steve Campbell is survived by his wife, Patsy Campbell, Round Rock, Texas; daughter Caren Grove and spouse Jon, of Virginia; son Chad Campbell, of Texas. Steve has one grandchild, Everly Willow Grove, of Virginia. Steve is preceded in death by his son Colin James Campbell, and parents Richard and Ada Campbell.
The family wishes to express gratitude to Dr. Terry Chambless of Round Rock for his kind attentiveness to Steve. Including also: Enhabit Home Health and Hospice; Preferred Home Health of Texas, and his devoted caregiver, Kendra Jones.
Memorial service and celebration of his life will be held for Steve in the spring of 2023 and announcements will follow with that date and time. Cremation will be on Thursday, December 15, and his ashes will be placed into the sea by the Coast Guard at a time to be determined.
