Even while growing up in Galena, IL, family was very important to Ronnie. As a child he could be found getting into mischief with his siblings, which would sometimes lead to trips to the hospital. Later, as an adult, he was always finding ways to be with his kids and grandkids - whether it be teaching them to cook, drive, garden, fix a car or float drywall; attending every game, recital and performance; or just spending time together on weekends. He cherished his role as “Pimpaw” and, being a big kid at heart, he loved to be silly and make jokes that made the kids laugh and the adults roll their eyes. There wasn’t a dad joke he wouldn’t proudly tell over and over again.
Ronnie was a generous and devoted man, offering help, guidance, and support to anyone who needed it. He answered every phone call, and would drop everything to come to your aid if you were stranded on the side of the road (as he did many, many times).
Ronnie was a lifelong electrician, starting out as an apprentice and working his way up to master electrician. His unmatched work ethic allowed him to be his own boss, starting and running a successful electrical contracting business for over 10 years.
He is preceded in death by his father, Ronnie Pfile, mother, Carol Banner, and step father Ernest Banner. He is survived by his siblings Julie and Redha Bensadi, Jeff Pfile and Kris Erikson, Tim and Theresa Pfile, Angel and Ron Haberman; his children Amanda Haley, Eddie and Georgia Pfile, Janessa and Chris Stephens, Carol and Andy Walter, and Madison Pfile; his grandchildren Avery, Jordan, Mina, Chance, Liberty, Alaina, Kaysen, Kyler, Zaniyah, and Memphis; as well as many friends.
A memorial service for Ronnie will be held Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown.
