Marissa was a fighter from day one as she was born prematurely after a tough pregnancy. Over several weeks her family worried and watched anxiously as she gained enough strength to come home. From a young age, Marissa enjoyed spending time with her family at all the various gatherings and events. Early on she also displayed her love of animals as she even nursed injured birds and squirrels that were lucky enough to come across her care. Later in life you would rarely spot Marissa without her loyal Chiwennie, Gotti.
Marissa was involved in many sports such as kickball, tennis, basketball, and eventually softball. She began playing softball in Round Rock and never stopped. She would go on to play in various leagues and several travel clubs throughout the state and national tournaments across the country. In High School she began at Stony Point and finished at Cedar Ridge playing on the Varsity squad. She continued her passion for softball by volunteering to coach young girls. Because of Marissa, we made some wonderful memories with so many teammates, parents, coaches, and watched some amazing ballgames.
Marissa Marie was a member of the very first graduating class of Cedar Ridge H.S. of 2013. She earned top honors and was AP Honor Roll. She was a member of the National Honor Society and earned scholarships due to her achievements. She went on to pursue a career in esthetics and earned a certification from Avenue Five Institute. She was looking forward to doing what she loved and helping people along the way.
