John Otto Ribsam, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend, passed away on November 11, 2024, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Born on April 27, 1942, in Trenton, New Jersey, to Joseph and Edna Ribsam, John lived a life marked by service, dedication, and an enduring love for his family and friends.
A proud U.S. Navy veteran, John served honorably for four years aboard the USS Essex, forming lifelong friendships and learning the value of commitment and teamwork. After his military service, John enjoyed a successful career as General Manager of Sales at Delstar Technologies. He earned the respect of colleagues and clients alike for his strong work ethic, leadership, and unwavering integrity.
Above all, John's greatest joy was his family. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Elizabeth Frances Ribsam, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage. Together, they raised two children: son Johnny Ribsam and wife Bridget of Hutto, TX, and daughter Melissa Wilson and husband Jon of Pflugerville, TX. John’s legacy lives on through his four cherished grandchildren: Sierra Ribsam, John-William Lane Ribsam, Blake Wilson, and Garrett Wilson. He also leaves behind his brother, Joe Ribsam of Trenton, NJ, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family, all of whom will deeply miss his warmth, wisdom, and steadfast support.
John was passionate about life, with hobbies that included golf, woodworking, and, above all, spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, his integrity, and the deep bonds he forged with everyone he knew.
A military burial service will be held at the Central Texas Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX, on Friday, January 10, 2025, at 11:00 AM. A celebration of John's life will follow on Saturday, January 11, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at 105 Powder Creek Cove, where family and friends are invited to share memories and honor his legacy.
