Henry Neil Kirkpatrick, age 93 of Georgetown, Texas, passed away on July 2, 2013. Neil Kirkpatrick was born January 9, 1920 unto parents Eula Mae and Robert Neil Kirkpatrick in Cumby, Texas (Hopkins County).
He married Dorothy Kirkpatrick on June 24, 1945 in Anson, Texas.
Preceded in death by his wife Dorothy, parents, brothers Robert, Valton, Charles, Vernon and Claude Kirkpatrick, sisters Med Rugel, Lila Belle Brady, Olive Rose Morris and Sarah Kirkpatrick.
Survivors include his son, Kenneth Neil Kirkpatrick and wife Vicki of Georgetown. Texas; stepdaughter, Marceil Davis of Hurst, Texas; grandchildren, Lesya Marsden, Travis Kirkpatrick, Keith Brewster, Randy Brewster and Lori Godbee; great grandchildren, Bryce and Brynnlee Marsden; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Neil graduated from Sulphur Springs High School in 1938. He spent the majority of his life as a truck driver with Red Ball Motor Freight, Western Gillette and East Texas Motor Freight. Neil was a member of the Teamsters Union from 1950 until his retirement. He was a Master Mason for more than 60 years and a member of the Ben Hur Shriners for many years. He retired in 1982, moved to Georgetown, TX to be close to family and started working as a bus driver from 1984 to 1995. Ranching and horses became a passion for Neil at an early age and followed him through life.
The family will welcome friends for a visitation on Sunday the fourteenth of July, 2013 from five o’clock until seven o’clock in the evening at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas. The Funeral Service will be held at ten o’clock in the morning on Monday the fifteenth of July, 2013 at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home. Interment will follow at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Georgetown, Texas.
