Bobbie Inez Rodgers Copeland passed away on Monday, January 25, 2016, at 88 years of age. Bobbie was born in Bertram, Texas on December 20, 1927, to Ralph and Laverne Rodgers. She was married to the late Clyde Copeland.
Bobbie was greatly loved by her 6 children and their spouses: son Randy Copeland; daughter Susan Nunnery and husband Michael; daughter Mary Copeland; son Tracy Copeland and wife Carol; daughter Kelley Knoblett and husband Kenneth; and son Bobby Copeland and wife Trisha.
Bobbie was also greatly loved by her 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren: grandson Ryan Copeland and wife Christy and their 3 children; grandson Todd Copeland and wife Laura and their 2 sons; granddaughter Katy Sue Ross and husband Matthew, and their 3 children; granddaughter Sarah Beth Nunnery and her son; grandson Jamie Copeland and wife Samantha and their 2 daughters; grandson TJ Nelson; granddaughter Kristen Nelson, granddaughter Kodi Copeland and Bobbie’s beloved cat Josie Marie. She also loved and was very proud of her many nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends, including the nursing staff and many friends from her stay at Park Valley Inn Center in Round Rock.
Bobbie was known as Granny to her grandchildren and Grandma to her great-grandkids. She was proud of her family and thought each one to be the smartest and prettiest (although they each think otherwise.)
Bobbie was proud of her life. She was an excellent cook and many people boasted of her fine cookery. She shared many stories, including skating almost every day on the beach front in Corpus Christi; being the Bertram High School Drum Major and her baton twirling; the long rides on her horse on the Bertram farm and her wish to be there again; and many other stories.
She loved her many cats and dogs that she had over her life time, each one having 2 names. Towards her last days we had the pleasure of learning each and every name and the fun she had with them. She often laughed about what her animals had to deal with. Should would diaper, dress, bottle feed them and push them in a baby carriage; although she had more fun than they did. She said that they came to an agreement that she WAS the Mom. She told of how they followed her around the farm.
Many thanks to those who called or visited Bobbie during her stay in the hospital and Park Valley Inn and much gratitude to the caregivers at Park Valley Inn. Bobbie will be missed for her humor and good spirit.
A memorial fund has been established at the First United Methodist Church in Taylor, Texas to be dedicated in Bobbie Copeland’s name in lieu of flowers.
