Barbara Jean (Boyd) Williamson, 76, formally of Rock Island, Illinois went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 7, 2023, surrounded by loved ones at home in Georgetown, TX. Barbara was born February 9, 1947, in Carson Lake, Arkansas. Her parents were Alpha E. and Annie Pauline Boyd.
Barbara’s family moved to Rock Island, Illinois where she attended Rock Island High School. Barbara was married to Major Williamson. While residing in The Quad Cities, Barbara worked at IH Farmall Manufacturing and tirelessly in the service industry for over 40 years.
She was a member of Third Missionary Baptist Church in Davenport, Iowa and faithfully served God. Barbara relocated to Arlington, TX in 2006 where she became a member of The Potter’s House-Dallas. Barbara possessed the unique gift of effortlessly drawing people in as she was authentically relatable and held in high regard. Barbara was known for being lovingly generous with her time, patience and empathy. She had a lighthearted approach to life and the beautiful ability of being the glue of the family; often bridging generational gaps as she had appeal to both young and old. Barbara Jean Williamson was a little lady with a big impact on the lives she touched. She will be greatly missed.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Benny and David Boyd. She leaves to cherish her memories and celebrate her life: children-Major Williamson, Mesquite, TX, Penny Ravnell, Georgetown, TX, LaTonya (Timothy) Lynch, Grand Prairie, TX; sisters Gwendolyn Boyd Lawrence, Schaumburg, IL & Joyce Boyd (Alphonso) Robinson, Mansfield, TX; 18 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
